Perfectly Clean Teeth On the Go!

Ad:Gifted – This product was gifted by Colgate, but all views are my own

There are few simple things in life which bring me joy.  Clean, freshly laundered sheets that have dried outdoors are one.  Homemade bread another.  And, super squeaky clean teeth.  The sort you only seem to get after a clean and polish at the dentist or when you’ve been using a good electric toothbrush on a regular basis.

Of course, a rechargeable electric toothbrush is a lovely concept, but not everyone has a power socket or space in their bathroom – and what do you do if you are travelling?  In my case, until now I’ve reverted to using a manual toothbrush when I’m on the road – and really noticed the difference.  With the Colgate Max White Sonic Power, I’ve found a lightweight, battery-operated electric toothbrush that works brilliantly.

It’s based on the design of the Colgate Max White manual toothbrush, with a unique brush design complete with a polishing star to remove surface stains together with tapered spiral bristles to polish up your teeth.  And the regular bristles do a great job of cleaning away plaque.  The battery-operated mechanism means that there’s no effort involved in brushing for long enough for that wonderful whole mouth clean feeling.

I have quite sensitive gums and I was particularly impressed that the soft bristles of a ‘medium’ brush really did clean my teeth properly but didn’t make my gums bleed.  The Colgate MaxWhite really worked for me.  When I’m travelling I tend to have late nights (with plenty of red wine) and early mornings.  It’s the time when I am least likely to bother cleaning my teeth properly, but the battery-operated MaxWhite made light work of that.  I’ve just started travelling again (albeit in the UK for now) and so I was delighted to test the Colgate 360° Max White Expert Whitening Battery Powered Toothbrush on a recent trip to Edinburgh.  Quite by chance, I ended up with a lovely Scottish blue and white toothbrush too!

The neat rubber grip with an on-off switch in the centre of the toothbrush handle works perfectly – I’ve been known to end up spraying the bathroom with bits of toothpaste, but this tidy bit of design means that you can hold the brush and turn it on and off in one hand, while you struggle with hotel taps (anyone else find that when travelling whenever they think they should be getting cold water it runs hot and vice versa?  Maybe that’s just me?).  The handle has a nice ergonomic design and is very easy to hold.  I’ve got quite small hands and anything too chunky can be awkward.

The bubble pack with my toothbrush had the correct batteries already there, ready to be popped in when I was ready to use the brush.  A thoughtful touch – again, I’ve been known to travel without the right batteries and chargers for my mouse, my camera my laptop and my phone. Anything that makes life easier is a bonus in my eyes.  It’s light and convenient.

I was genuinely impressed with the Colgate 360° Max White Expert Whitening Battery Powered Toothbrush. While I’m not abandoning my rechargeable model yet, I’ll definitely keep a battery-powered toothbrush for travelling.
